We aim to match the original stone and mortar as closely as possible so repairs blend in naturally, while restoring the integrity and appearance of the structure using methods suited to traditional stone buildings.

Mortar joints play a key role in the stability and weather resistance of stonework. Over time, joints can deteriorate through exposure to wind, rain, and frost, which may lead to water ingress and progressive structural issues if left unaddressed. Repointing and jointing restore the joints by removing weakened mortar and replacing it with a suitable, durable mix that matches the existing work, improving both performance and appearance.

We begin by assessing the existing stone type, surface texture, tooling marks, joint profile, and the colour and composition of the original mortar. Where replacement stone is needed, we aim to source the closest practical match and shape it to replicate the existing face and detailing. For mortar, we select an appropriate mix and finish to suit the age and exposure of the structure, then carry out sample areas where helpful so the final appearance and weathering characteristics sit naturally with the surrounding masonry.
